Message the steel straps, are no longer flexible. However since the whole exhaust (back to the DP) is so long, I think there still a bit of flexibility the closer you get to the engine. And if you look at the before and after pics (showing the tips in relation to the rear fascia), you will see that the straps only moved the tips about 1/4".

Perhaps you're suggesting that the straps may be stressing the entire exhaust pipe too much. IDK if that's a problem. I'm just inclined too think that such a small shift in position or reduced potential in range of motion is inconsequential. In ZXRider's case it sounds like one of his pipes is out of position about 1/2" relative to the other. If each pipe is moved 1/4" toward the other, each should be close to a uniform distance from the fascia and no more stress would be applied to his exhaust system compared to mine.

Now there is also the possible stress from the exhaust pipe growing longer as it heats up. But the muffler hanger rod has the potential of moving in and out of the steel strap and rubber hanger holes if it increase in length and then contracts.
